Mounting the drivers face-forward places the driver's motors inside of a long path so they are less exposed to the elements (as in nasties like fine alkaline dust or corrosive salt-air).

Fundamental tuning is only slightly lower in this version of the cabinet and performance will be close enough to the same (so refer to our measurements of the original cabinet to have an idea of what to expect).
